Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect the landing page address you submit, the email address you give us to send the findings to, and one answer about your sign-up volume. There is no advertising tracking on this site, no analytics, and no cookies. Nothing is sold to anyone, ever.
Who is responsible
This site and the scan are operated by Pickle Octopus, based in Seattle, Washington. “We” below means Pickle Octopus and anyone working for or affiliated with it.
What is collected
Only what you type, and only when you choose to submit it:
- The landing page address you paste into the field.
- The email address you give us so the findings have somewhere to go.
- Your answer to the one volume question, which is how we tell you honestly whether testing would work at your size.
- Anything you write into a contact form, and the email address you send it from. Each submission is stored with the time, the IP address it came from, and the browser that sent it, which is what lets us tell a real message from an automated one.
- A mailing address, but only if you are asked for one and choose to give it. This is never collected on the site — it only comes up by email, if you are offered something to be sent to you, and it is used for nothing but sending it.
We do not ask for your name, your job title, your phone number, or payment details, and there is nowhere on this site to give them to us. A mailing address is never requested by this website at all.
The page you give us
When you submit an address, our server retrieves the page at it, the way any visitor’s browser would, and reads the markup that is publicly served. We keep the address and what we measured from it so a person can review the findings before they are sent. We do not log in to anything, we do not attempt to reach pages behind a password, and we collect nothing about visitors to your page.
What is not collected
There is no Google Analytics or any other analytics on this site. There are no advertising or tracking pixels. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why it is collected
To read the page you asked us to read, to send you what we found, and to reply if you write to us. If you gave us an address, we may follow up about it once or twice. If you tell us to stop, or simply do not reply, that is the end of it.
Who else touches it
One service, acting on our behalf and bound by its own privacy terms:
- Vercel hosts the site, runs the scan, and stores what the forms send. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period.
Form submissions are held in private storage that is not reachable from the public internet and is read only by us, behind a password. They are not passed to any other company.
Nothing is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. We would disclose information only if the law required it of us.
How long it is kept
Submissions and correspondence are kept while there is a reason to — an open conversation, or an active engagement — and are deleted when there is not. A mailing address is deleted once the thing it was given for has been sent. Ask us to delete anything of yours and we will, without asking why.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it corrected, or ask for it deleted, through the contact form. Depending on where you live you may have these rights by law; we extend them to everybody regardless.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to submissions is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Contact
Anything at all about privacy goes through the contact form.
